About The Position

Walmart is hiring a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to support and oversee repair of refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets at Walmart facilities. The role uses commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, along with hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment. The technician receives and documents work orders in a work order management system, supports stores and associates, responds promptly to emergency maintenance calls, and inspects, operates, or tests facilities and equipment to diagnose problems. The role requires completing safety training and following applicable OSHA and EPA requirements and Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety and environmental guidelines. The position involves lifting up to 75 pounds, climbing ladders, and frequently working at heights.

Requirements

Meet one of the stated experience pathways: 3 years of HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience; or 6 years of HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, hold an HVAC-R/mechanical journeyman qualification.
Have 1 year of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related area, or 2 years of Walmart store experience.
Hold a valid state-issued driver's license and be able to pass a motor vehicle report.
Have no DUI, DWI, or OUI convictions on a commercial driving record in the last five years.
Have no more than two moving violations on a commercial driving record in the last three years.
Have no preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
Have no serious traffic violations, as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be able to lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work at heights frequently.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a 2-year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or a 2-year Associate of Applied Science program in air conditioning and refrigeration.
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Prior experience with glycol and CO2 systems.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets.
Use commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete work.
Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders supporting stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Perform work in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart refrigeration HVAC safety and environmental guidelines.
