About The Position

Qdrant is hiring its first Senior Technical Success Manager in Australia or Japan to join the Customer Success and Engineering organization. The role reports to the Director of Customer Success and focuses primarily on helping strategic customers in APAC succeed with Qdrant in production, while also supporting new business opportunities, partners, and technical questions during APAC hours. The position is suited to someone who enjoys working independently, navigating startup ambiguity, and helping build the company’s presence and operating practices in a new region. The role is remote-first. The Technical Success Manager will serve as the primary technical owner for the region’s largest customers, supporting them from onboarding through production, scaling, and expansion. They will deliver hands-on guidance across Qdrant Cloud and self-hosted Kubernetes deployments, handle most first-line technical questions in APAC hours, and coordinate escalations with Support and Engineering. They will also support sales evaluations and proofs of concept, work with regional partners, align customer stakeholders on scope and priorities, and relay customer feedback to Product and Engineering.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Technical Account Manager, Technical Success Manager, Solutions Architect, Solutions Engineer, or Forward Deployed Engineer at an AI, data, or database infrastructure company.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native infrastructure, including Kubernetes, Terraform, and at least one major cloud platform: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Ability to reason about memory, performance, and scaling problems independently.
  • Experience supporting technical evaluations as well as managing long-term customer relationships.
  • Ability to negotiate confidently with enterprise engineering, IT, and security teams and to push back constructively when customer requests are not beneficial.
  • Self-sufficient approach to working in an ambiguous startup environment, including making independent decisions and knowing when to delegate or escalate.
  • Based in APAC, ideally Australia.
  • Clear communication in English.
  • Ability to occasionally join early or late calls with teammates in Europe and the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with vector search or search engines, or with RAG and agentic AI applications in production.
  • Experience as an early or first hire building a regional presence for a startup or scale-up.

Responsibilities

  • Own strategic APAC customer relationships as the primary technical contact, from onboarding through production, scaling, and expansion.
  • Conduct customer health checks and architecture reviews, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Work hands-on with customer engineering teams on deployment, configuration, and performance tuning across Qdrant Cloud and self-hosted Kubernetes environments.
  • Resolve most first-line technical questions during APAC hours and provide clear, evidence-based diagnostics when escalating issues to Support and Engineering.
  • Set expectations on scope, priorities, and customization requests, and align engineering, IT, and security stakeholders on next steps and timelines.
  • Support Account Executives with regional opportunities and proofs of concept.
  • Help regional partners’ technical teams position and deploy Qdrant.
  • Bring APAC customer feedback to Product and Engineering and help develop regional playbooks and processes.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with additional perks.
  • Flexible working hours and an async-friendly culture.
  • High ownership and real impact.
  • Open-source, engineering-driven culture.
  • Choice of laptop equipment.
  • For US-based full-time employees: 401(k) match, health, dental, and vision insurance, and flexible PTO.
