Senior Technical Subject Matter Expert
About The Position
AI Signal Research, Inc. (ASRI) is recruiting senior technical subject matter experts in Test & Evaluation (T&E) disciplines to be based in the Huntsville, Alabama area. Candidates will bring hands-on experience and peer-recognized expertise in one or more T&E technical areas applied to complex aerospace and related systems, including structural dynamics; electromagnetic environmental effects; natural and induced climatic environmental effects; propulsion and energetics; advanced instrumentation design and applications; data acquisition and management; distributed live, virtual, and constructive approaches; cybersecurity; and novel applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning to T&E. Reporting directly to the ASRI President, these positions collaborate with ASRI’s Senior Technologist to provide technical subject matter expertise to ASRI customers. Technical support may include comprehensive analysis, risk identification and management, complex troubleshooting and failure resolution, identifying novel approaches to improve effectiveness and efficiency, and other efforts to advance the state of the art in the area of expertise. A bachelor’s degree or higher in an applicable engineering or technical discipline and at least 15 years of professional technical experience in the relevant T&E area are required. Experience must include hands-on applications with complex aerospace or related systems. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, hold a security clearance, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrate peer recognition of subject matter expertise. Recognition may be evidenced by technical publications, service on policy-establishing committees, an advanced degree, relevant performance awards, or similar accomplishments. A master’s degree and/or PhD, professional development and accomplishments such as honors, publications, professional licenses, or certifications, and 20 or more years of experience are desired. Expertise with U.S. military weapon systems, knowledge of the DoD research, development, testing, evaluation, and acquisition enterprise, and strong professional networks across government, defense, or commercial organizations in the area of expertise are also desired. Compliance with health mandates dictated by the contract may be required as a condition of employment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an applicable engineering or technical discipline.
- At least 15 years of professional technical experience in the relevant T&E technical area, including hands-on work with complex aerospace or related systems.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Security clearance required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated peer recognition of subject matter expertise in one or more defined T&E technical areas, evidenced by publications, committee participation, advanced degrees, performance awards, or similar recognition.

Responsibilities
