About The Position

Coastal Chemical Company, a chemicals provider to the oil, gas, refinery, and petrochemical industries, is hiring for a technical services role supporting the sales team through its Value Added Program. The role provides technical support intended to deliver superior customer service and product quality. The position interacts daily with clients and the sales team by phone, email, and personal site visits. It is home-based when not traveling and requires residence in West Texas; travel is anticipated to exceed 50% to cover the West Texas sales territory.

The position provides field and analytical support, recommendations for products used in production, customer training, and technical guidance to the sales team. It also develops customer optimization options and researches products to help prevent or minimize future technical and operational issues.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong technical background and support experience.
• Organizational skills to multitask and manage many requests and customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across business groups, from shift operators to upper management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Must reside in West Texas.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surveys and provide field support for assigned project requests.
• Provide analytical support and process recommendations for products used in the production group to increase sales on existing and new client accounts.
• Conduct informational training seminars for clients about the chemical products sold to them.
• Address technical or operational issues arising from field challenges.
• Develop recommendations and optimization options for customers and the sales team.
• Research and develop new products to preclude or minimize future client technical and operational issues.
• Educate and train the sales team on the chemical products sold.
