About The Position

The Senior Technical Project Manager (STPM) leads complex robotics, automation, and advanced aerospace tooling programs from concept through deployment. The role combines systems engineering, program execution, and customer delivery, overseeing the integration of capital equipment—including robotics, precision tooling, motion systems, and automated assembly technologies—into aircraft production environments. The STPM owns program scope, schedule, cost, risk, and technical integration, coordinates multidisciplinary engineering teams, and serves as the primary interface to Airbus internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customer production sites. The position leads programs from requirements definition through CISS, CIPS, and production deployment; coordinates technical architecture and validation; manages customer and supplier relationships, program finances, procurement, and risks; and supports installation, commissioning, production readiness, and continuous improvement. It also supports proposal development, cost estimation, and technical scoping for new programs. This is an on-site, US direct-hire professional position with 30% domestic and international travel required. The salary range is $160,000–$188,000 per year, based on candidate profile, including a variable performance-based component.

  • Partner with systems engineering and controls/software leads to manage interface definitions and performance validation.
  • Support verification and validation planning, including simulation, offline programming, CISS, CIPS, and production ramp-up.
  • Serve as the primary program interface to Airbus internal customers, external partners, and suppliers.
  • Lead program reviews, status reporting, and executive-level updates.
  • Manage scope changes, contract deliverables, and commercial impacts in coordination with program leadership.
  • Support on-site installation, commissioning, and production readiness activities.
  • Track program financials, including budget, earned value, and forecast accuracy.
  • Manage procurement, supplier deliverables, and long-lead items in alignment with the schedule.
  • Drive issue resolution across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.
  • Implement continuous improvement in program execution, documentation, lessons learned, tooling performance, and delivery processes.
