About The Position

The Senior Technical Program Manager for Manufacturing is the primary bridge between Product Development (PD) and Global Manufacturing Operations and serves as the single point of contact for manufacturing process development and deployment within PD programs. The role ensures custom automation, tooling, and test equipment are designed, validated, and deployed on time to support product launch milestones. It is a hybrid position based in Oura’s San Francisco office, with three days per week in the office. The role coordinates manufacturing engineering, operations, engineering, vendors, and contract manufacturers throughout equipment development and production deployment. It includes aligning equipment schedules with the master product schedule, supporting the Plan of Record, managing equipment qualification and acceptance testing, identifying and resolving technical risks, planning for manufacturing-impacting changes, scaling production lines at global sites, and tracking development budgets and resources. Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.

Requirements

  • 7 or more years of technical project management experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment; consumer electronics experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
  • Ability to translate complex technical constraints into actionable plans for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience reporting on complex programs by breaking them into understandable components and KPIs.
  • Experience managing global equipment vendors and Contract Manufacturers (CMs).
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in wearable, miniaturized, or high-precision consumer electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience managing programs for custom automation, fixtures, and test equipment from concept through FAT/SAT and production ramp.
  • Familiarity with MES systems, production data dashboards, or smart manufacturing tools.
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program management certification.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Manufacturing Engineering as the lead and single point of contact in Product Development program forums.
  • Coordinate with Operations Program Managers and Engineering Program Managers to align equipment schedules with the master product schedule and drive cross-functional issues to closure.
  • Collaborate on the Plan of Record and ensure qualification plans, checklists, and specifications support production release.
  • Manage the full development lifecycle of manufacturing equipment, from requirements gathering and vendor selection/RFQs through Final Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
  • Identify manufacturing-process bottlenecks early and manage dependencies between hardware design changes and equipment capability.
  • Manage changes that affect manufacturing, including impact assessment and deployment planning.
  • Oversee installation and bring-up of manufacturing lines at global sites and ensure equipment meets yield, cycle-time, and reliability targets.
  • Manage manufacturing-development CAPEX/OPEX budgets and allocate resources to priority program workstreams.
  • Establish integrated equipment and process schedules, reporting cadences, and KPIs covering schedule, FAT/SAT status, yield and cycle-time readiness, and CAPEX spend.
  • Serve as an escalation point for equipment vendors and contract manufacturing teams and drive technical risks to closure ahead of build milestones.
  • Travel as needed, potentially up to 25% of the time.
