About The Position

This role plays a critical part in supporting enterprise application governance by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and visibility of application data across the organization. Through the effective use of ServiceNow, this position promotes strong IT hygiene practices, enabling alignment between application owners, infrastructure teams, and risk management functions. The role also helps ensure that critical systems are properly documented, governed, and compliant with organizational and regulatory standards, supporting operational resilience and informed decision-making.

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience with ServiceNow, including CMDB and Application Portfolio Management (APM)
  • Strong understanding of application architecture, infrastructure components, integrations, and server environments (on-prem and cloud)
  • Experience supporting IT governance frameworks, regulatory compliance, audits, or risk management programs
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices related to configuration management and service operations
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in complex, matrixed environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to educate, influence, and guide technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Analytical and detail-oriented mindset with a strong focus on data quality, accuracy, and governance standards
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences, including leadership
  • Proven relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders
  • Proactive problem-solving approach with a high degree of ownership and accountability
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify gaps and implement scalable process enhancements

Nice To Haves

  • ServiceNow certifications (e.g., CSA, CIS-CMDB, CIS-APM) preferred but not required
  • Experience standing up or maturing CMDB/APM programs preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain application records within the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and ongoing integrity
  • Track and manage application portfolio details, including ownership, vendor relationships, lifecycle status, and critical system attributes
  • Lead periodic data certification and validation processes to support IT hygiene, governance, and compliance requirements
  • Partner with application owners, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to validate and update application data
  • Support risk classification efforts, including assigning sensitivity levels and aligning applications to underlying infrastructure and server environments
  • Identify and document application exposures, including hosting models (cloud, on-prem), dependencies, and integration points
  • Collaborate with enterprise teams to ensure full visibility and traceability across all applications supporting business operations
  • Engage with senior and executive stakeholders to drive enterprise-wide accountability, data ownership, and governance adherence
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of ServiceNow processes, CMDB data quality, and enterprise data governance practices
