About The Position

The Senior Technical Product Manager will help build Starbucks’ next-generation integrated planning capabilities, bringing together supply chain planning, data, analytics, optimization, and enterprise technology in a cohesive product ecosystem. The role combines deep supply chain planning expertise with technical fluency to partner with engineering teams building in-house capabilities and to integrate with commercial and enterprise platforms where appropriate. The position identifies business problems and opportunities, defines success metrics, and translates business needs into clear epics and user stories so engineering teams can design, build, release, and monitor solutions. The role works collaboratively to create simple, engaging experiences and align business and technical objectives. The product manager defines product direction, priorities, health metrics, and KPIs; writes work items and specifies acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements; clarifies tradeoffs, dependencies, and constraints; and drives iterative Agile delivery. They partner with design and engineering on sizing and planning, remove blockers, facilitate user review and acceptance, and measure post-launch success to improve product health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, supply chain, operations research, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience delivering complex enterprise technology products, including products supporting business-critical planning and operational processes.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain planning, with demonstrated knowledge of demand planning, supply planning, inventory planning, replenishment, capacity planning, and/or integrated business planning.
  • Experience building or leading enterprise planning products and translating complex planning processes and business requirements into scalable product capabilities.
  • 5+ years of experience using analytics, optimization, forecasting, scenario modeling, or decision-support capabilities to inform product strategy, prioritization, and planning decisions.
  • 5+ years of experience partnering cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Data, Engineering, Architecture, and other business and technology teams.
  • 5+ years of hands-on product management experience, including defining product vision, multi-year roadmaps, capabilities, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlogs.
  • Experience partnering closely with engineering and design teams to deliver complex capabilities from discovery and design through development, testing, deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to define planning workflows connecting demand signals, forecasts, inventory, supply constraints, business rules, and operational decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including understanding complex business processes, identifying automation and optimization opportunities, and translating them into clear product requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years of experience delivering technically complex enterprise products involving multiple engineering teams, shared services, upstream and downstream dependencies, and cross-team roadmaps.
  • Experience building an in-house or highly customized supply chain planning platform rather than relying exclusively on packaged planning applications.
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end planning concepts, including forecasting, demand sensing, supply and demand balancing, inventory optimization, replenishment, allocation, constraints, exception management, scenario planning, and what-if analysis.
  • Experience designing solutions with, configuring, extending, or integrating commercial planning platforms such as o9, SAP, Oracle, or Anaplan, and understanding when to build internally versus use packaged solutions.
  • Experience integrating planning solutions with ERP, order management, inventory, procurement, warehouse, transportation, point-of-sale, and financial systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of APIs, event-driven integrations, batch interfaces, ETL/ELT pipelines, master data, and integration patterns for planning and operational systems.
  • Experience partnering with data engineering and architecture teams to define data models, source-system requirements, data contracts, transformation rules, data quality expectations, lineage, and data flows for planning applications.
  • Experience with data mapping, master and reference data, data governance, reconciliation, interface validation, and end-to-end integration testing.
  • Understanding of planning data foundations, including product/item, location, supplier, inventory, orders, historical demand, forecasts, lead times, calendars, and planning parameters.
  • Experience defining and delivering planning algorithms, optimization capabilities, forecasting solutions, rules engines, or decision-support services with engineering, data science, and operations research teams.
  • Ability to define measurable product outcomes using planning and operational KPIs such as forecast accuracy/bias, service level, inventory availability, inventory productivity, waste, planning efficiency, and exception resolution.
  • Experience designing intuitive web-based planner experiences, including workbenches, dashboards, exception-driven workflows, scenario comparisons, approvals, and decision-support experiences.
  • Technical fluency to work effectively with software engineers and architects and understand system architecture, APIs, data models, integration designs, and technical trade-offs; prior software development experience is a plus.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and align business and technology stakeholders around product vision, architecture, roadmap, and investment sequencing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including simplifying complex planning and technology concepts for senior leaders, business partners, engineers, and end users.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile product development, including iterative discovery and delivery, backlog refinement, sprint planning, dependency management, release planning, and product adoption.

Responsibilities
