About The Position

The Senior Technical Business Analyst serves as a strategic connector between learning, workforce capability, data, and technology initiatives across Advanced Digital Education (ADE). The role uses systems thinking, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement to identify opportunities, define business and technical requirements, and guide improvements to learning experiences, workflows, reporting, and digital capabilities. The analyst works across technical and non-technical teams, translating organizational needs and evidence into actionable requirements that support workforce development, adoption, measurement, and continuous improvement. The position considers business and technical engineering/IT needs to ensure digital products and operational workflows meet or exceed business objectives. It performs cost, benefit, and risk analysis for proposed products or services and recommends alternatives throughout the product lifecycle. The analyst collaborates with stakeholders and users to synthesize, articulate, and document business and system requirements; performs data analysis; and translates business requirements into technical/engineering specifications, acceptance criteria, user experience requirements, and system validation, considering the complete technical and non-technical solution. Engineering/IT uses these specifications for final technical design and product build, acquisition, or integration. The role may assist product and operations leaders in coordinating deliverable deployment, depending on the product. It provides input to product documents, project charters and plans, work assignments, target dates, and other aspects of assigned work. The analyst applies systems engineering methodologies throughout the product and project lifecycle, researches and validates requirements, defines scope boundaries for basic and routine products, and plans and monitors scope estimates and schedules. The role also performs root cause analysis, interprets vendor solution architecture, and translates it into scope and technical requirements for integration with Mayo Clinic engineering/technology systems and product operations workflows. It helps define implementation change-management requirements for products that do not require formal Implementation Team resources and requires demonstrated experience leading teams in a Product Owner capacity. This is a hybrid position. The employee must be located within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus for occasional on-site expectations based on business needs.
