About The Position

Antioch is seeking a Senior Technical Artist to join their team, focusing on developing a sim-ready asset pipeline. This role involves building content and pipeline tools to ensure the simulation platform is high-fidelity, performant, and reusable. The position requires working across procedural and hand-crafted environment design, character animation pipelines, real-time visual FX, and physics systems. This is an early-stage, high-ownership role where the work will directly impact leading robotics, autonomy, and perception teams, contributing to the safer, faster, and more cost-effective deployment of physical autonomous systems. The ideal candidate thrives in a 0 -> 1 environment and wants their work to directly influence the success of autonomous systems in the real world.

Requirements

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating procedural thinking and custom tooling for real-time game engine or VFX pipelines, with a preference for Python.
  • Deep knowledge of PBR materials and custom shader design, with significant experience in MDL, MaterialX, or Unreal Engine shader networks.
  • Experience building tools for procedural scene creation, with expertise in Unreal Engine PCG, Houdini, or Blender's Geometry Nodes.
  • Expertise in Gaussian splatting and generative 3D modelling approaches.
  • A track record of shipping production-ready capabilities, not just prototypes.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with NVIDIA Omniverse and/or Isaac Sim.
  • Deep knowledge of USD pipelines.
  • Experience with NVIDIA's Newton or Warp libraries.
  • Prior work on synthetic data generation, simulation, robotics, or autonomy.
  • Experience with Metahuman pipelines and procedural character animation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build Python tools to enhance the sim-ready USD asset pipeline.
  • Engage in procedural environment creation.
  • Process character animation.
  • Develop Gaussian splat tooling.
  • Create CAD-to-realtime pipelines.
  • Configure robotic assets.
  • Design custom MDL shaders.
  • Create real-time dynamic FX.
  • Research and implement bleeding-edge asset creation and processing solutions focused on simulation-readiness, configured for accurate physics and sensor-ready materials across camera, radar, lidar, and infrared simulation domains.
  • Create high-quality environments from various sources (customer-provided, internally designed, asset-store sourced).
  • Partner directly with customers and internal sim engineers to create environments, assets, and systems for simulating frontier autonomous solutions.
  • Act as a key representative of Antioch in customer conversations and site visits.
  • Work alongside founders, other technical artists, and software engineers.

Benefits

  • High ownership with end-to-end system responsibility.
  • Fast iteration and direct customer feedback.
  • Opportunity to work with a founding team with experience from leading companies like Google Deepmind, Tesla Autopilot, and Meta Reality Labs.
  • Influence engineering culture, product direction, and company strategy.
