About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical tax professional to join our growing tax organization and support critical U.S. tax reporting and compliance activities. The Senior Tax Analyst, U.S. Tax Reporting & Compliance will be responsible for supporting Altera's U.S. income tax reporting, tax provision, and compliance processes. This role will work closely with the broader Tax, Accounting, Treasury, and Finance teams to ensure timely and accurate tax filings, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in corporate income taxation, tax accounting, and compliance, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
  • 3+ years of corporate tax experience in public accounting and/or industry.
  • Knowledge of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax principles.
  • Understanding of ASC 740 and tax provision processes.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience analyzing large data sets.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Applicants must be eligible for any required U.S. export authorizations.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA license or progress toward CPA certification.
  • Master's degree in Taxation (MST) or Accounting.
  • Experience with tax compliance and provision software such as OneSource, Corptax, Workiva, or similar platforms.
  • Experience within a public company or multinational corporate environment.
  • Big 4 or national public accounting firm experience.
  • Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740.
  • Prepare and reconcile current and deferred tax calculations.
  • Support preparation of the effective tax rate analysis and tax account reconciliations.
  • Assist with tax-related financial statement disclosures and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare analyses related to deferred tax assets, liabilities, valuation allowances, and uncertain tax positions.
  • Prepare and review supporting workpapers for U.S. federal, state, and local income tax returns.
  • Coordinate data collection and information requests with internal stakeholders and external tax advisors.
  • Support estimated tax payments, extensions, and other filing requirements.
  • Maintain tax compliance calendars and filing trackers to ensure timely submissions.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end tax close activities.
  • Maintain tax accounting schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with SOX compliance and tax-related internal controls.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and audit trails for key tax processes.
  • Assist with federal, state, and local tax audits and examinations.
  • Gather supporting documentation and respond to information requests.
  • Maintain audit files and tax records in accordance with company policies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and data quality within tax processes.
  • Support implementation and enhancement of tax technology tools and reporting systems.
  • Assist with special projects, tax research, and technical analyses as needed.
