Senior Tax Accountant / CPA

Trueline•Louisville, KY

About The Position

Trueline is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to prepare individual income tax returns, provide tax planning, and build client relationships within an established boutique tax practice. The position is suited to a tax professional who enjoys hands-on work, takes ownership of deadlines, and wants to contribute to a small team. Experienced CPAs interested in future practice leadership, as well as Enrolled Agents and tax accountants seeking technical growth, are encouraged to apply. The role includes managing an assigned client workload, communicating directly with clients, and collaborating with wealth management professionals on coordinated tax and financial planning. The accountant will use cloud-based tax preparation and document-management tools, review returns, and may take on mentoring, advisory, or practice leadership responsibilities over time. Business and trust return experience is helpful but is not required for candidates with strong individual tax preparation skills. The role is based in Louisville, Kentucky, and requires working with the local team and attending the office as required. Additional hours are expected during tax season, generally around 50 hours per week, with some peak weeks approaching 60. Scheduling and office expectations are discussed during the interview process. Compensation reflects experience and responsibilities; salary structure, performance incentives, and benefits will be discussed during the interview process. Long-term practice leadership and ownership discussions may be possible for the right CPA, subject to a future agreement.
