Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Long Range Radars department. In this role, you will support X-Band Radar technology by performing radar data analysis and systems integration activities at our San Diego, CA location. Responsibilities include supporting system data analysis, integration tasks, and scope planning to establish milestones, develop schedules, and manage competing priorities. Typical daily activities performed by the team include scenario development, testing, data analysis, providing support to software development and systems engineering teams, and delivering customer presentations. The ideal candidate will contribute to enhancing the team’s capabilities and work effectively with both internal and external customers.

Requirements

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience with MATLAB, Python, Perl, C/C++, Linux, Unix, and/or other programming language.
Experience with systems engineering, radar data analysis, integration, verification, validation and/or system testing.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

Experience using String/HWIL test equipment, radio frequency (RF) electronic hardware configuration and installation, software installations, and integrating or regression testing radar systems with certifications in CompTIA Network+ and or CompTIA Security+.
Experience with MATLAB, Linux Operating Systems (Linux Red Hat), Unix, and Shell scripting for performing integration, verification, test, and data analysis, integrating and configuring electronics, installing/debugging software.
Experience creating integration test procedures, test plans, test scripts, developing and maintaining configuration control documentation, and navigating through test setup.
Experience with agile and DevSecOps processes, implement (or maintain) agile methodologies, participating in daily team standup meetings, sprint reviews, program Increment (PI) Planning meetings, retrospectives, and agile tooling such as JIRA and Confluence, and support execution of the team’s backlog including performance analysis and issue investigation.
Strong integration skills, knowledge of radar algorithms, radar signal processing concepts, theory, modeling and determining radar performance, and team interaction skills.

Responsibilities

Participate in integration and test planning/execution, executing verification/validation events, and perform scenario-based analysis to identify and resolve technical observations.
Complete system performance assessments and validation testing to ensure compliance with requirements and specifications.
Execute integration plans and testing activities according to defined tasks Milestones and schedules.
Integrate and test radar system software builds in a String/HWIL facility for supporting integration, verification, test, and data analysis activities.
Collaborate with cross-program leads/stakeholders to generate test approaches, ensure test-setup readiness, and participate in key processes (peer, gate, and test readiness.
Confirm test and evaluation processes are conducted according to established procedures for software and hardware and ensure compliance with Department of Defense technology release and export licensing policies.
Willingness for 5-10% local and non-local travel including experience with domestic and foreign military sales products.
