Senior Systems Engineer – Radar Analysis

Four Sea Group, Inc.•Aurora, CO, SD
•$148,000 - $213,600

About The Position

Four Sea Group is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in radar analysis to support the development, evaluation, and advancement of complex radar and mission capabilities. The role helps customers translate operational needs into technically sound, mission-effective solutions by evaluating radar and signal-processing performance, supporting algorithm development and integration, analyzing system behavior, and helping ensure capabilities meet mission objectives throughout the systems engineering lifecycle. The engineer is expected to bring radar and signal-processing knowledge, systems thinking, analytical depth, and practical modeling or prototyping experience. They will independently own significant analytical efforts, assess technical tradeoffs, communicate findings to engineering and program stakeholders, and collaborate across software, systems, mission, and test teams. Depending on background and program need, areas of specialization may include radar performance analysis, signal processing, algorithm development, tracking and state estimation, modeling and simulation, or mission-level systems analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another relevant STEM field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Typically eight or more years of relevant systems engineering, radar, signal processing, mission engineering, algorithm development, or related technical experience.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application.
  • Experience with radar systems and radar performance analysis.
  • Experience applying signal-processing concepts to complex technical or mission problems.
  • Experience working through the systems engineering lifecycle, including translating system or mission requirements into analytical, algorithmic, or technical solutions.
  • Experience performing functional, performance, or operational analysis of complex systems.
  • Experience using MATLAB or comparable analytical tools for modeling, analysis, or code prototyping.
  • Ability to independently plan and execute significant technical analysis efforts and synthesize results from multiple technical sources.
  • Ability to evaluate technical performance, identify risks or tradeoffs, and communicate findings to engineering, program, and customer stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical reasoning, and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in radar architecture, mode development, or sensor performance analysis.

  • Expertise in tracking, state estimation, or data-fusion algorithms.
  • Experience in kinematic trajectory or threat analysis.
  • Experience with mission scenario modeling and simulation.
  • Experience conducting technology and system-performance trade studies.
  • Experience in requirements derivation, decomposition, allocation, or interface analysis.
  • Experience with mission engineering activities across the Systems Engineering “V”.
  • Experience with Python, modern C++, C, Java, or other programming languages used for algorithm development, prototyping, or analysis.
  • Applied mathematics knowledge, including linear algebra, statistics, numerical methods, control theory, optimization, or frequency-domain analysis.
  • Experience with multi-INT or multi-sensor data fusion.
  • Experience with Linux-based development or analytical environments.
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, Jira, Confluence, or comparable engineering collaboration and configuration-management tools.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Podman.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience supporting radar, space, defense, intelligence, or other mission-critical systems.
  • Experience preparing or presenting technical findings to customers or senior technical stakeholders.
  • Experience providing technical guidance or mentorship to other engineers.
