About The Position

Stellar Solutions is seeking a senior systems engineer/project manager to support NASA’s Unified Network and Navigation Operations (UNNO) Project Office as a member of the NASA Data Analysis and Technical Support Services II (DATSS-II) team. UNNO is consolidating the management, operations, maintenance, and sustainment of NASA’s Near Space Network and Deep Space Network into a single, integrated operational framework. The successful candidate will work in the UNNO Project Office at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama, and provide direct support to the Project and Deputy Project Managers. The role involves advising project leadership during all phases of execution on mission-critical issues and providing programmatic, acquisition, systems engineering, and integration expertise. It requires subject matter expertise and the ability to develop credible recommendations for senior program and project leadership, as well as identify and address NASA programmatic challenges using management, contracting, and engineering best practices. This full-time role is performed in a hybrid environment, split between on-site work at MSFC and off-site work at a remote location such as home. Travel to other NASA centers and supplier locations may be required, averaging up to one week per month. Deliverables may include reports, briefings, spreadsheets, or other documents as directed by the Government, using government-approved or mandated systems, software, and processes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a STEM-related field.
At least 15 years of space systems program/project management and systems engineering and integration experience, including acquisition of space systems.
Working knowledge of NASA program/project management and systems engineering principles, and experience applying them to NASA space flight programs.
Initiative and ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of customers, senior leadership, program managers, mission managers, systems engineers, and chief engineers.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to achieve results within organizationally diverse teams through influence rather than direction.
Ability to travel to other NASA centers and supplier locations, averaging up to one week per month.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Engineering or a STEM-related field.
At least 20 years of experience in space systems program/project management, including financial management, schedule management, and risk management; systems engineering and integration; research and development; and acquisition and procurement management support.
Demonstrated expertise in developing strategic relationships with industry and Government agencies or partners.
Demonstrated project management experience and familiarity with NASA program management fundamentals and mission development processes.
Demonstrated understanding of systems engineering fundamentals, including concept development, systems requirements, implementation, interface management, system integration, and verification.
Professional certification in program management, contracting, systems engineering, or another applicable field.

Deliver reports, briefings, spreadsheets, and other documents as directed by the Government.
