About The Position

Joseph J. Albanese, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our IT Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and enhancing our hybrid infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments, supporting both office employees and distributed field teams. The Senior Systems Administrator will serve as a senior technical resource, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and scalable while driving continuous improvement across the IT environment. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure engineering
  • Strong experience with: Microsoft 365 and cloud identity platforms
  • Endpoint management and device lifecycle management
  • Virtualization technologies (enterprise hypervisors)
  • Hybrid cloud/on-prem environments
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls)
  • Experience with identity and access management systems
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell preferred)
  • Ability to troubleshoot across infrastructure, endpoint, and security layers

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain core infrastructure, including virtualization platforms and cloud services
  • Administer Windows server environments and Microsoft 365 services
  • Lead system upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management initiatives
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of all systems
  • Manage endpoint configuration, compliance, and lifecycle across corporate and field devices
  • Administer modern device management platforms and endpoint monitoring tools
  • Oversee patching, provisioning, and device security standards
  • Administer enterprise security platforms (endpoint protection, detection, and monitoring solutions)
  • Enforce identity and access management controls (MFA, conditional access, least privilege)
  • Support incident response, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Maintain and support compliance with frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, CMMC, NIST 800-171 and ITIL-based operational practices
  • Participate in audits, policy enforcement, and continuous improvement of the organization’s security and compliance posture
  • Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and outages
  • Monitor system health and proactively identify risks
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions
  • Develop scripts and automation to streamline operations and reduce manual effort
  • Standardize configurations and improve system reliability
  • Partner with IT leadership, service desk, and vendors on key initiatives
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development
  • Assist in evaluating and implementing new technologies
