About The Position

The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, security, and ongoing support of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role serves as the senior technical authority within the IT team and acts as a primary escalation point for complex systems, network, and security issues. The Senior Systems Administrator works closely with IT leadership to maintain reliable, secure, and compliant systems that support business operations and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in systems administration or infrastructure support.
  • Experience supporting Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization platforms.
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, firewalls, VPNs, and security best practices.
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Ability to create, maintain, and enforce technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple systems and priorities simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to understand and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 40 lbs as needed.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment preferred.
  • Experience supporting ERP systems such as Made2Manage is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and monitor enterprise systems including servers, networks, storage, virtualization platforms, and cloud services.
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, user access controls, and permissions across systems and applications.
  • Oversee server infrastructure including Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms, backup systems, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, VPNs, and network security controls.
  • Serve as the technical lead and escalation point for complex system, network, and security issues.
  • Support and enforce cybersecurity requirements aligned with CMMC and NIST 800-171 standards.
  • Assist IT leadership with system planning, upgrades, lifecycle management, and technology improvements.
  • Maintain system documentation, procedures, diagrams, and configuration standards.
  • Provide guidance and technical direction to IT support staff.
  • Support ERP, reporting, and business systems in coordination with IT management and operational departments.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security and proactively identify risks or vulnerabilities.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers as needed.
  • Participate in audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support IT operations.
