About The Position

Stellantis is seeking a System Analyst Validation Engineer (VST) to understand the development, design, and interactions of vehicle electrical and electronic systems, including body, audio, active chassis, and safety systems. The engineer will develop and lead automated stress testing at vehicle and subsystem levels and help ensure systems meet defined design expectations and deliver reliable performance. The role analyzes test results, troubleshoots and reproduces issues, identifies root causes, and leads cross-functional collaboration to implement corrective actions. It includes presenting status updates to leadership, escalating critical issues and risks, leading selected team initiatives, providing technical direction, and coordinating validation and issue-resolution activities. The engineer will use CAN/LIN testing tools, including CANoe simulation, and traditional electrical test equipment in an electrical laboratory environment. Testing and troubleshooting may take place on a plywood buck, vehicle hardware-in-the-loop (VHIL), subsystem hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and/or vehicles. The engineer will collaborate with feature owners, engineering teams, extended teams, and suppliers to understand EE functions, identify defects early, and provide evidence of defect elimination. The role also provides feedback on test plans and procedures to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited university.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in automotive electrical systems design, development, or validation.
  • Experience leading root-cause investigations involving analysis of test results, issue reproduction, and identification of underlying causes of automotive electrical and electronic system defects.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness and ability to drive and test vehicles.
  • Ability to obtain a chauffeur's license to drive heavy-duty pickup trucks.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, including Canada and Mexico, up to 10%.
  • In-depth understanding of CAN/LIN and extensive experience with CAN/LIN testing tools, including CANoe simulation.
  • Experience with electrical debugging tools such as a digital multimeter, oscilloscope, CAN diagnostic tools (CANoe/CANalyzer), current probes, and other diagnostic equipment, including voltage-testing equipment.
  • Familiarity with over-the-air updates, including FOTA, AOTA, MOTA, and xOTA.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited university.
  • EE Validation hardware-in-the-loop testing on body, chassis, and other vehicle electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with CAN scripting and automation tools, including CAPL and Python, for automotive testing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CAN bus and experience using Vector CAN tools, including CAN diagnostic tools, CANoe, and CANalyzer.
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical debugging tools such as a digital multimeter, oscilloscope, current probes, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience performing vehicle- and system-level validation.
  • Demonstrated experience with DFMEA and DVP&R processes.
  • Training in DVP (Design Validation Plan) and DFMEA (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
  • Demonstrated ability to determine root cause and debug CAN and CAN FD communication buses.
  • Certified problem-solving skills, such as Reactive Quality Green Belt or Reactive Quality Black Belt.
  • Demonstrated system or component automated bench-testing design experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead automated stress testing at vehicle and subsystem levels.
  • Execute test procedures in alignment with test EE Validation guidelines and strategy.
  • Analyze test execution results, generate reports, document incidents, and drive incidents to resolution through detailed system analysis.
  • Troubleshoot ECUs, System HIL, and test environment functionality to minimize false-positive incident reports.
  • Lead root-cause investigations by analyzing test results, reproducing issues, and identifying underlying causes of system defects.
  • Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and resolve component and system performance issues.
  • Present status updates to leadership and escalate critical issues and risks.
  • Lead selected team initiatives, provide technical direction, and coordinate validation and issue-resolution activities.
  • Test and troubleshoot vehicle systems using CAN/LIN tools and electrical diagnostic equipment across plywood buck, VHIL, subsystem HIL, and/or vehicle test properties.
  • Collaborate with feature owners, engineering teams, extended teams, and suppliers to understand EE functions, identify defects early, and provide evidence of defect elimination.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies for test design and execution processes.
  • Document test environment, automation, and vehicle configuration requirements.
  • Provide feedback on test plans and procedures.
  • Drive and test vehicles as required.
  • Travel domestically and internationally, including Canada and Mexico, up to 10%.
