About The Position
Supermicro is seeking a System Validation Engineer to partner with the Hardware Designing team to validate in-house server and workstation platforms, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical specifications and test configurations to verify system stability and reliability. The role involves collaborating with internal engineering and product teams on various projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar field.
- Familiarity with server and computer architecture.
- Basic knowledge of networking/TCP/IP and the Linux operating system.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Two to four or more years of work experience in system or component testing.
- Familiarity with HPC, data center, networking architecture, and system mechanics.
- Expert technical knowledge of designing and implementing server systems.
- Benchmarking experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform motherboard and server system application validation testing.
- Conduct functional and compatibility testing on operating systems such as Linux and Windows.
- Perform motherboard and hardware functional validation testing.
- Perform server configuration and system performance testing.
- Report hardware and software quality assurance issues in bug-tracking systems.
- Duplicate customers’ motherboard issues when needed.
- Work with customers and product management to understand how products are used in production and to understand advanced functionality requirements.
