About The Position

Stellantis is seeking a System Analyst Validation Engineer (VST) to understand the development, design, and interactions of vehicle electrical and electronic systems, including automotive body, audio, active chassis, and/or safety systems. The engineer will develop and lead automated stress testing at vehicle and subsystem levels and apply automotive technology, specification analysis, and system-operation knowledge to verify that systems meet defined design expectations. The engineer will work with validation teams to assess system reliability and performance by analyzing test results, troubleshooting and reproducing issues, and resolving component- and system-performance problems. Responsibilities include identifying root causes, coordinating corrective actions with cross-functional teams, presenting status updates to leadership, escalating critical issues and risks, and leading selected team initiatives while providing technical direction. The role requires in-depth knowledge of CAN/LIN, experience with CAN/LIN testing tools such as CANoe simulation, and use of traditional electrical testing equipment in an electrical laboratory environment. Testing and troubleshooting may take place on plywood bucks, vehicle hardware-in-the-loop (VHIL), subsystem hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and/or vehicles. The engineer will collaborate closely with feature owners, engineering teams, extended teams, and suppliers to understand EE functions, identify defects early, and provide evidence of defect elimination. The role also provides feedback on test plans and procedures to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited university.
  • At least 8 years of experience in automotive electrical systems design, development, or validation.
  • Experience leading root-cause investigations involving analysis of test results, issue reproduction, and identification of underlying causes of automotive electrical and electronic system defects.
  • Valid driver's license and ability and willingness to drive and test vehicles; ability to obtain a chauffeur's license to drive heavy-duty pickup trucks.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (Canada/Mexico) up to 10%.
  • Experience with electrical debugging tools, including a digital multimeter, oscilloscope, CAN diagnostic tools (CANoe/CANalyzer), current probes, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiarity with Over The Air updates (FOTA, AOTA, MOTA, xOTA, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited university.
  • EE Validation Hardware-in-the-Loop testing on Body, Chassis, and other vehicle electrical systems.
  • Experience with CAN scripting and automation tools such as CAPL and Python for automotive testing.
  • Knowledge of CAN bus and experience using Vector CAN tools, including CAN diagnostic tools, CANoe, and CANalyzer.
  • Experience performing vehicle- and system-level validation.
  • Experience with DFMEA and DVP&R processes.
  • Training in DVP (Design Validation Plan) and DFMEA (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
  • Ability to determine root cause and debug CAN and CAN FD communication buses.
  • Certified problem-solving skills, such as Reactive Quality Green Belt or Reactive Quality Black Belt.
  • Experience designing automated bench testing for systems or components.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead automated stress testing at vehicle and subsystem levels.
  • Execute test procedures in alignment with EE Validation guidelines and strategy.
  • Analyze test execution results, generate reports, document incidents, and drive incidents to resolution through detailed system analysis.
  • Troubleshoot ECUs, System HIL, and test-environment functionality to minimize false-positive incident reports.
  • Lead root-cause investigations by analyzing results, reproducing issues, and identifying underlying causes of electrical and electronic system defects.
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to implement corrective actions and resolve issues.
  • Present status updates to leadership and escalate critical issues and risks.
  • Lead selected team initiatives, provide technical direction, and coordinate validation and issue-resolution activities.
  • Test and troubleshoot vehicle systems using CAN/LIN testing tools and electrical diagnostic equipment on applicable test properties, including plywood bucks, VHIL, subsystem HIL, and vehicles.
  • Document test-environment, automation, and vehicle-configuration requirements.
  • Implement continuous-improvement strategies for test design and execution processes.
  • Collaborate with feature owners, engineering, extended teams, and suppliers to understand EE functions, identify defects early, and provide evidence of defect elimination.
  • Provide feedback on test plans and procedures.
  • Drive and test vehicles; travel domestically and internationally, including Canada and Mexico, up to 10%.
