About The Position

Guidepoint’s Market Research Team is seeking a Senior Survey Programmer to program complex and bespoke market research questionnaires in web-based survey platforms, including custom web design, and to conduct quality assurance on programmed survey work. The role works with project managers and fieldwork teams to ensure survey specifications, sample collection, quotas, and translations are implemented accurately. The position is expected to work hours aligned with US-based colleagues on the East Coast. It may be hybrid from Guidepoint’s Mumbai or Pune offices in India, or remote.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience programming market research surveys in Qualtrics or another online survey platform; Qualtrics is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work with internal teams to gather requirements, translate specification documents into programmed surveys, and communicate timing expectations and updates.
  • Experience with JavaScript/jQuery, HTML, and CSS for developing custom question types or presentations.
  • Comfort implementing complex survey design elements such as conjoint, maxdiff, and least-fill randomization.
  • Experience quality-assuring surveys and designing survey QA processes and workflows to ensure work aligns with requested specifications and design.
  • Ability to advise on survey design best practices and identify designs that may be difficult for respondents to answer.

Responsibilities

  • Program market research questionnaires supplied in Microsoft Word into the Qualtrics online survey platform accurately and on time.
  • Set up routing, custom display logic, and termination logic so that appropriate respondents enter surveys and receive relevant questions.
  • Ensure questions and supporting media, including video, images, and formatted text, display accessibly, clearly, and engagingly for respondents.
  • Use JavaScript/jQuery, HTML, and CSS to create custom question designs, back-end logic or data structures, and display functionality in Qualtrics to meet client requests.
  • Contribute reusable JavaScript/jQuery examples for consistent implementation of custom questions, data structures, and logic by less technical programming staff.
  • Recommend adjustments or seek clarification from project managers when designs or specifications are unclear or could confuse respondents.
  • Conduct quality assurance on programmed surveys to confirm they meet client and project requirements before they are sent.
  • Set up projects to collect sample internally or through redirects from external recruitment partners.
  • Manage and upload third-party translations, and verify that they display correctly to respondents.
  • Communicate project status, edit requests, questions, and timing expectations with project managers through instant messaging, video calls, and project management platforms.
  • Coordinate with fieldwork teams to ensure quotas are set up and kept up to date.
  • Perform other duties as required.
