About The Position

Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM) is seeking a Senior Survey CAD Technician to turn complex survey data into accurate, high-quality deliverables. The role applies field and office surveying experience to process survey data, prepare drawings and legal descriptions, and resolve technical challenges across land surveying projects. Working closely with the Project Manager and field teams, the technician takes ownership of technical assignments and contributes to the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of projects. The position is preferred to be onsite at SAM’s Worcester office.

Requirements

• Previous combined field and office surveying experience, including route surveys, boundary analysis, digital terrain modeling, construction layout, and data processing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong computer and technical skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to evaluate survey information and identify discrepancies.
• Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, field crews, and fellow technicians.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to work onsite at the Worcester office is preferred.
• Knowledge of geometry and trigonometry.

Responsibilities

• Process and evaluate field survey data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and SAM standards.
• Coordinate with field crews and project leadership to address data gaps, resolve questions, and support efficient fieldwork.
• Prepare survey plats, drawings, legal descriptions, and alignment drawings.
• Review plats, drawings, and other technicians’ deliverables for accuracy and consistency.
• Monitor field production and data quality, communicating issues that could affect project schedules or deliverables.
• Work with the Project Manager to meet client requirements and deliver quality work on schedule.
