About The Position

As a Senior CAD Technician on Olsson's Survey team, you will develop survey deliverables for public and private sector projects. You will use Civil 3D and survey drafting expertise to prepare accurate drawings and documentation supporting boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, and construction surveying services. You will work with surveyors, engineers, and project managers to ensure deliverables meet client expectations, project requirements, and industry standards.

The role also supports the survey team's growth and efficiency through technical expertise, drafting workflow improvements, and mentoring less experienced CAD staff.

Requirements

• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to contribute and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• At least six years of experience as a CAD Technician supporting survey, civil engineering, or related projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D.
• Demonstrated experience preparing survey deliverables, including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, plats, legal descriptions, exhibits, and boundary and topographic survey documents.
• Strong understanding of land surveying principles, practices, terminology, and survey documentation requirements.
• Ability to develop and review complex CAD drawings accurately and with attention to detail.
• Experience collaborating with surveyors, engineers, and project managers throughout all phases of a project.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree in CAD Drafting or a related field (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain survey drawings and models in Civil 3D for public and private sector projects.
• Prepare survey deliverables, including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, plats, legal descriptions, exhibits, boundary surveys, and topographic surveys.
• Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and project managers to ensure deliverables are accurate, complete, and aligned with project requirements.
• Perform quality control reviews and ensure survey documents comply with company standards, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Provide technical expertise, improve drafting workflows, and mentor less experienced CAD staff.
