About The Position

Texas Athletics is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Senior Student Associate for the Summer 2026. This role is designed for students interested in a career in intercollegiate athletics and will assist in daily business office operations that support athletic programs while expanding their knowledge of the industry. The Senior Student Associate will report to the Associate Athletic Director, Deputy CFO.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled as a full-time graduate student at UT Austin and in good academic standing.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment.
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn internal systems and database platforms quickly.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and communicate professionally.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and a commitment to providing high-quality support.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

  • Pursuing a graduate degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • Interest in athletics administration, finance, compliance, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for student‑athlete financial aid, scholarships, housing, and dining.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate student‑athlete records, rosters, and supporting documentation in internal tracking systems.
  • Support preparation, review, and organization of scholarship and financial aid materials (e.g., award confirmations, checklists, correspondence).
  • Perform routine data entry, reconciliation support, and report preparation under staff supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student and financial information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Support event or peak‑period operations as needed (e.g., start of term, aid renewal cycles).
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Proactively seek guidance when unsure or unclear of a law, rule or policy applicable to you or your department/sport program.
  • Actively participate in assigned education and training programs.
  • Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Conference, or other governing body, including state and federal laws.
  • Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income.
  • Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR.
  • Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation.
  • In compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and Texas Education Code Sec. 51.252, this position may be a Non-Confidential Employee as defined by University policies on Sex Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Interpersonal Violence and Stalking.
