About The Position

TYLin is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Buildings team in Rochester, New York. The Buildings team provides structural engineering for new construction, renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation projects, as well as related services such as architectural services, code consulting, façade engineering, lightweight structures, and construction support. The role involves structural design and analysis across a range of building types and systems, preparation of project documentation, site investigations, and coordination with staff and clients. The stated base compensation range is $95,000–$120,000 annually.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
5–12 years of experience executing residential, commercial, or institutional building projects as a Structural Engineer.
Proficiency with computer analysis software such as RISA, SAP, or RAM.
Working knowledge of REVIT.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in a relevant field.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred; Structural Engineer (S.E.) license is an asset.
Experience in historic buildings preservation.

Responsibilities

Perform structural design and analysis for a wide range of building projects involving steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and archaic building systems.
Assist in preparing drawings and specifications.
Conduct site investigations to document existing conditions.
Coordinate with staff and clients on projects.
