About The Position

HDR is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to provide technical expertise on building structural engineering projects, including resolving complex problems and planning and developing projects or design activities. The role includes organizing and supervising the work of a medium to large staff of professionals and technicians. The engineer may serve as Project Manager on larger projects, although project management is not the position’s sole focus. Other duties may be assigned. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• At least 10 years of structural engineering experience related to building design.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position’s location, such as a PE or P.Eng license.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE, or similar analytical software.
• Experience in design calculations and layouts.
• Ability to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
• Understanding of gravity analysis and lateral analysis.
• Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Commitment to actively participating in HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering with a Structural emphasis.
• Structural Engineer (SE) license.
• Revit and Navisworks experience.
• Interest in data center structural design.
• Experience writing proposals.
• Knowledge of ACI 350, AWWA D100, and API 650.
• Local experience.
• Previous experience with structural investigations and rehabilitation design.
