About The Position

TYLin is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Buildings team in Rochester, New York. The team provides structural engineering services for new construction, renovation, adaptive reuse, and historic preservation projects, as well as related expertise in architectural services, code consulting, façade engineering, lightweight structures, and construction support services. The role involves structural design and analysis across a wide range of building types and structural systems, along with drawing and specification preparation, site investigations, and coordination with staff and clients.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
5–12 years of experience executing residential, commercial, or institutional building projects as a Structural Engineer.
Proficiency with computer analysis software such as RISA, SAP, or RAM.
Working knowledge of REVIT.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree.
P.E. license preferred; S.E. license considered an asset.
Experience in historic building preservation.

Responsibilities

Perform structural design and analysis for building projects using steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and archaic building systems.
Assist in preparing drawings and specifications.
Conduct site investigations to document existing conditions.
Coordinate with staff and clients on projects.
