Senior Strategic Advisor - US

XTEL•United States, NA

About The Position

XTEL is seeking a commercially minded Senior X-Steps Consultant (Strategic Advisory) for its newly launched global Business Consulting Department. X-Steps embeds business expertise in client engagements alongside technical implementation teams, focusing on commercial value creation for top-tier consumer packaged goods (CPG) clients. The team is expanding its consulting capabilities from Revenue Growth Management (RGM) analytics to include Trade Promotion Management (TPM). The consultant serves as the client-facing lead for value and project delivery, working in a twin-stream model with technical Data & Solution Implementation Leads. The role translates CPG business challenges into platform requirements and configurations, and helps clients realize measurable commercial growth, ROI, and sustainable value from software implementations. The position includes leading complex, high-value engagements and client relationships, structuring value-extraction plans, and coaching junior team members.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in management consulting (Tier 1/2 or boutique) or in a commercial, RGM, or TPM leadership function within the CPG industry.
  • Deep domain expertise in CPG commercial analytics, pricing architecture, and trade promotion optimization (RGM and TPM).
  • Proven ability to drive business transformation, manage senior stakeholder expectations, and quantify size-of-prize opportunities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing facilitation skills.
  • Ability to lead complex, high-value client engagements and manage C-level relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Understand CPG business goals in RGM and TPM, including pricing, trade terms, promotional ROI, and assortment, and translate them into platform requirements.
  • Run market-connect sessions during project kick-offs to align software setup with the client’s commercial strategy and KPIs.
  • Act as the internal client for the technical implementation team, challenging deployments to ensure they are pragmatic, relevant, and aligned with user needs.
  • Deliver hands-on training using the client’s market data and develop client-specific business recipes so end users can independently run and interpret analytical use cases.
  • Facilitate commercial business sprints, guiding clients from their first analytical run toward profitable revenue growth and long-term value realization.
  • Lead complex, high-value client engagements and manage C-level client relationships.
  • Structure 12–24 month value-extraction glide paths.
  • Coach junior team members.
  • Drive business transformation, manage senior stakeholder expectations, and quantify size-of-prize opportunities.

Benefits

  • Hybrid or fully remote working setup.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Competitive salary package and bonus scheme.
  • Opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the organization’s growth and development.
  • Diverse and international team with strong ownership and a can-do mentality.
