About The Position

ZipStaff is seeking an experienced Storage Engineer to support enterprise storage engineering for a major healthcare analytics and payment integrity organization. This fully remote contract role focuses on Dell EMC PowerScale/Isilon (OneFS) and ECS object storage, including architecture, performance, protocols, and production support. Candidates must have dedicated enterprise storage experience and strong hands-on Dell EMC knowledge. The engineer will design, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise storage solutions; administer PowerScale features and ECS environments; configure file and object protocols; and support production availability, capacity management, and operational excellence. Blue Bell, Pennsylvania is preferred, but the position is fully remote.

Requirements

At least 5 years of dedicated enterprise storage engineering experience, including at least 3 years focused specifically on Dell EMC platforms.
Deep technical knowledge of PowerScale/Isilon (OneFS) architecture, including SmartPools, SmartQuotas, SyncIQ, InsightIQ, and DataIQ.
Proven experience deploying and managing Dell EMC ECS, with understanding of object-based architectures, buckets, namespaces, and geo-replication.
Advanced understanding of NFS (v3/v4), SMB/CIFS, and S3 API.
Strong knowledge of storage networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, and LACP, and directory services integration, including Active Directory, LDAP, and Kerberos.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex system logs and performance metrics.
Ability to work fully remote.

Nice To Haves

Experience with other Dell EMC storage arrays such as PowerMax or VPLEX, or SAN switches such as Brocade or Cisco MDS.
Familiarity with hybrid-cloud storage tiering, such as CloudPools tiering to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
Scripting proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Background in healthcare, payment integrity, or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise storage solutions, primarily Dell EMC PowerScale/Isilon (OneFS) and ECS.
Administer SmartPools, SmartQuotas, SyncIQ, InsightIQ, and DataIQ capabilities.
Deploy and manage Dell EMC ECS, including buckets, namespaces, and geo-replication.
Configure and support NFS (v3/v4), SMB/CIFS, and S3 API protocols.
Apply storage networking and directory services integration knowledge to support storage environments.
Analyze system logs and performance metrics to resolve issues and optimize environments.
Support production availability, capacity management, and operational excellence.
