Senior Storage Engineer
About The Position
KeyCorp is seeking a Senior SAN / Storage Engineer to design, support, and improve its enterprise storage environment. The role works with Cisco MDS fabrics and Pure Storage FlashArray and FlashBlade, supporting critical applications, databases, and virtualized environments across the organization. The position is part of a collaborative infrastructure team focused on reliability, performance, disaster recovery, automation, and continuous improvement. It is hybrid, with two days in the office at 4910 Tiedeman Road, Brooklyn, Ohio. The position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship for non-U.S. citizens. The role supports storage and SAN administration, enterprise storage operations, disaster recovery and business continuity, and storage security, compliance, and governance. Compensation is a base salary of $69,000 to $105,000 annually, with eligibility for incentive compensation that may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience supporting enterprise storage, SAN, or infrastructure environments.
- Experience working with Fibre Channel storage networks and enterprise storage platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with infrastructure, application, and database teams.
Nice To Haves
- Experience administering Cisco MDS 9000 Series SAN switches and Fibre Channel fabrics.
- Experience with Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (NDFC/DCNM) or similar SAN management platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Pure Storage FlashArray and/or FlashBlade.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery, replication technologies, snapshots, and recovery best practices.
- Experience working in regulated environments such as financial services, healthcare, or other highly governed industries.
- Familiarity with storage security concepts including RBAC, MFA, encryption, and audit logging.
- Experience supporting Dell PowerScale (Isilon), Dell ObjectScale/ECS, or similar NAS/Object Storage solutions.
- Experience integrating storage with VMware vSphere / ESXi, Red Hat OpenShift / Kubernetes, or Nutanix AHV.
- Exposure to Cisco UCS environments.
- Experience with automation and scripting using Python, PowerShell, Ansible, or Bash.
- Relevant industry certifications, such as Cisco CCNP Data Center, Pure Storage FlashArray or FlashBlade certifications, or other storage or infrastructure-related certifications.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain Cisco MDS SAN environments, including upgrades, configuration, and performance optimization.
- Manage Fibre Channel fabrics, zoning, VSANs, and related connectivity components.
- Monitor storage and SAN health using tools such as Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (NDFC/DCNM).
- Troubleshoot performance, latency, and connectivity issues across the storage environment.
- Configure and manage Pure Storage FlashArray and FlashBlade platforms.
- Provision and maintain storage resources, snapshots, host mappings, and capacity management.
- Improve operational efficiency through automation and scripting.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity solutions across multiple data centers.
- Maintain replication, backup, and recovery processes.
- Participate in disaster recovery testing and recovery planning initiatives.
- Ensure storage platforms meet enterprise security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Support access controls, authentication integrations, and audit logging.
- Address security findings and maintain compliance standards.
