About The Position

NYU Langone Health is seeking a world-class professional to join their Workplace Culture and Inclusion team as a Senior Specialist. This role focuses on creating an engaged workforce by utilizing listening and needs analysis strategies, learning and change methodologies, and cultural competence/cultural humility. The Senior Specialist will act as a credible partner to leaders, developing and implementing strategies for a positive workplace environment. Key skills required include organizational awareness and intervention, program and project management, data and situational analysis, coaching leaders, cross-group coordination, facilitation, and communication.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning & Development, Executive Coaching, Organization Development/Effectiveness or Diversity Equity and Inclusion preferably in a strategic planning role or program management.
  • Strong background in and knowledge of Organization Development and Change (ODC) theory and practice, and a broad range of evidence-based ODC interventions.
  • Bachelors degree (Masters degree preferred) in Organization Development, Organizational Behavior/Psychology, Change Leadership or a related field required.
  • Experience consulting with senior leaders regarding whole-system, programmatic, and departmental strategic change efforts.
  • Experience implementing and operationalizing evidence-based development and change leadership and management models and frameworks.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in the healthcare industry, particularly academic medicine, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes organizational analysis methods to identify opportunities for change/improvement.
  • Works with leaders to design programs that support a positive work environment and address potential issues in their infancy; discusses possible action steps to improve the environment including building a culture of respect and belonging.
  • Provides education amongst leadership on how to effectively promote a positive and open work environment where employees feel comfortable speaking up about issues.
  • Establishes feedback mechanisms to solicit feedback from faculty, staff and students in order to assess the effectiveness of education/initiatives designed to promote positivity in the workplace.
  • Regularly measure and analyze, highlight areas of strength and weakness, providing consultative support to identify opportunities, interventions, and initiatives for improvement.
  • Facilitate team meetings, retreats, and town halls for departments and stakeholder groups.
  • Provide leadership coaching, when appropriate, to Managers, Directors, and VP+ leaders via one-to-one and group interactions.
  • Recognize and respond to department needs by providing tailored strategies and solutions to enable appropriate cultural competence/humility and change.
  • Develop effective partnerships with leaders through facilitation, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Collaborate with other Workplace Culture and Inclusion members on engagement, employee experience and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging education and programming.
  • Define key performance indicators by developing metrics for core programs and processes, and track delivery against program objectives.
