About The Position

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Senior Space Planner to join its Real Estate Development and Facilities team. This role is crucial for developing a Strategic Campus Master Plan and implementing renovation and construction projects to align the physical environment with the organization's future vision. A key initiative is the development of a new acute care pavilion, which involves demolishing existing buildings and relocating significant program space. The Space Planner will report to the Director of Campus Planning and be responsible for preparing drawings and materials for project development across NYU Langone Medical Center's campuses.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Five years related experience in architectural planning and design.
  • Two years practical CADD experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare space management reports and facilities planning documents, including plans and graphic displays.
  • Work independently within department policies, referring to a supervisor for clarification.
  • Communicate the impact of design alternatives and interact effectively with NYULMC personnel, contractors, and consultants.
  • Utilize CADD systems and engineering management software to produce construction documents, specifications, and schedules.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical skills and stay current on planning and healthcare industry trends.
  • Participate in feasibility studies and other reports for management, physicians, departments, affiliates, clinical leadership, board members, and outside agencies by analyzing, summarizing, and presenting findings.
  • Ensure compliance of plans with construction requirements using knowledge of architectural/engineering technologies.
  • Contact building owners, renters, and customers for project requirement input.
  • Conduct space use and occupancy surveys of NYULMC Departments.
  • Provide assistance with planning, space information management, and analysis of space utilization in the context of strategic planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
