About The Position

Avaloq's R&D Lab is building a SaaS, API-first, composable banking platform for enterprise wealth managers and private banks. As Senior Solutions Architect, you will be the technical bridge between that platform and the institutions we serve, combining deep investment and portfolio domain knowledge with hands-on technical skill. This is amongst the first technical roles we are hiring for our Fort Lauderdale site. You will work closely with our Product, Engineering, and Sales teams, and support client implementation teams through their integration journey. The first three to six months: Some of what you can expect early on: Building depth in our platform, its data model, and its integration surface Getting to know our clients, their systems, and how their data reaches us Working with Sales on live opportunities, joining client conversations and technical discovery as you build context Taking on increasing responsibility as you build context, always in alignment with the Zurich team What you will do: Architect and support proof-of-concept implementations, translating client requirements into integration designs Run technical discovery with prospective clients to understand their portfolio, performance, and data requirements, and partner with Sales to address technical questions Provide hands-on technical support to client implementation teams, troubleshooting integration issues and advising on API and MCP usage Shape the structure and standards for our technical documentation, covering implementation guides, API references, data models, and integration patterns, and work with the team to keep it accurate and current Design reference architectures, sample code, and integration accelerators that reduce time to value for client onboarding Translate domain models such as positions, transactions, performance, and fees into clear integration guidance for client engineering teams Collaborate with Product and Engineering to channel client feedback and influence roadmap priorities Stay current on platform capabilities, releases, and roadmap so you can advise clients on what is coming Contribute to the knowledge base and self-service resources that help clients move faster on their own Build and maintain detailed knowledge of Avaloq and other core banking systems that feed data into our platform Our stack: Serverless-first on AWS: Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, S3, and Bedrock. Terraform and OpenTofu for infrastructure, GitHub Actions for CI/CD. Clients integrate with us over our APIs and through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Product teams work in Rust, TypeScript, Python, Vue, and Angular. We do not run containers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in financial services technology, with strong domain expertise across investment and trading platforms, portfolio data, performance calculation, fee mechanics, and rebalancing
  • Proven architecture experience: data architecture, solution design, and translating complex domain models into efficient implementations
  • Experience with event-driven, API-first architectures and modern integration patterns
  • Solid programming and scripting ability for building demos, accelerators, and integration examples. We are language-agnostic; Rust, TypeScript, or Python all work here
  • A track record of producing clear technical material for varied audiences, from client engineers to executives
  • Exceptional communication skills: present and demo to technical and executive audiences, and bridge business, product, and engineering
  • Experience supporting enterprise clients through complex implementations, ideally in banking or wealth management

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with AWS or another major cloud platform
  • Experience with core banking systems, whether Avaloq or a comparable platform
  • Experience defining documentation standards or information architecture for a technical product
  • Experience with AI-assisted engineering and documentation tools
  • Familiarity with GIPS, performance attribution methodologies, or regulatory reporting in wealth management
