About The Position

The Senior Solutions Architect owns end-to-end architecture for complex, multi-domain, higher-risk healthcare payer engagements, with a focus on core administration systems—including Claims Processing, Billing, Enrollment, and Provider Management—and modern platform enablement. The role serves as the primary escalation point for delivery design decisions and develops reusable enterprise solution patterns across cloud platforms, core systems such as MetaVance, and AI-enabled solutions. The position bridges traditional core health plan processing with modern approaches, including AI, intelligent automation, microservices, and cloud-native architecture, to support scalable digital transformation. It works with IT, leadership, product, and development teams to define solutions aligned with enterprise architecture and guide design and delivery execution.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in Solution Architecture, Application Architecture, or Enterprise Architecture within healthcare payer domains or large-scale complex software delivery.
  • Hands-on architecture experience with healthcare core administration platforms such as MetaVance or similar, with deep understanding of Claims Processing, Billing, Membership, Enrollment, Benefits Configuration, Provider Management, and Customer Service.
  • Demonstrated ownership of enterprise-scale solution delivery from initial discovery through architecture, detailed design, implementation, and production rollout.
  • Experience architecting cloud-native and event-driven architectures using microservices, messaging patterns such as Azure Service Bus and Event Grid, and modern integration frameworks.
  • Experience translating high-level designs into structured implementation artifacts, including API contracts, event schemas, Infrastructure-as-Code, and integration specifications.
  • Proven experience evaluating, architecting, and implementing AI/ML, Large Language Models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and Agentic AI frameworks using Azure AI Services.
  • Understanding of enterprise AI governance, security, compliance, and Responsible AI frameworks.
  • Fluency with AI-assisted development and delivery tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT Enterprise as part of the architecture and software development lifecycle.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience embedded directly within active Agile/DevOps delivery teams, guiding execution rather than operating solely in an advisory capacity.
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability and regulatory standards, including FHIR, HL7, X12, and HIPAA.
  • Direct experience with Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks such as Terraform and Bicep, and automated CI/CD patterns.
  • Track record of leading enterprise-scale vendor evaluations, platform selections, and core system modernizations.
  • Azure Solutions Architect, Azure AI Engineer, or relevant healthcare/AI certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Define solution architecture for programs, projects, and key initiatives.
  • Work with IT and leadership to clarify requirements and define solutions consistent with enterprise architecture.
  • Work with product and development teams to design and implement solutions.
  • Take a leadership role as necessary, focusing on design and development execution.
  • Lead end-to-end solution architecture for enterprise initiatives across healthcare payer domains, platform modernization, and AI-driven capabilities.
  • Define and codify reusable architecture blueprints, design patterns, and accelerators to streamline discovery, design, and delivery.
  • Interpret enterprise architecture standards, participate in Architecture Review Boards, and collaborate with Principal Architects on complex or precedent-setting decisions.
  • Drive cloud-native, event-driven, API-first, and Generative/Agentic AI capabilities into core platform delivery workflows.
  • Mentor architects, technical leads, and engineering teams on solution design, platform capabilities, AI adoption, and architecture best practices.
