Senior Solutions Architect

Amentum•Richmond, VA

About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to join its Engineering and Technology (E&T) growth team and develop innovative, competitive, and tailored solutions for Federal government proposals. The role translates client needs, capture strategies, and compliance requirements into compelling technical and operational approaches aligned with organizational goals and win strategies. The position focuses on Federal proposal work using FAR-based, Commercial Solution Opening (CSO), and Other Transaction Authority (OTA) processes, drawing on expertise in systems engineering, IT, and/or mission support. As senior technical architect for selected Federal pursuits, the role owns technical strategy and proposal responses, including technical solutions, staffing approaches, implementation considerations, Basis of Estimate (BOE) inputs, and supporting technical artifacts. The architect may manage or lead technical volumes, interview subject matter experts, integrate partner capabilities, and ensure responses are technically credible, compliant, customer-focused, and aligned with capture strategy. This position collaborates with Business Development account managers, Capture Managers, subject matter experts, and other Solutions Architects, and requires strong writing and communication skills to present complex technical and compliance information clearly.

  • Experience interviewing subject matter experts and turning their technical inputs into structured proposal content.
  • Experience in relevant domains such as systems engineering, mission IT, cloud, cybersecurity, operations and maintenance, or mission support.
  • Experience working with teaming partners to integrate capabilities and solution approaches and support pricing or Basis of Estimate inputs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AI and ML platforms and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior technical architect across the pursuit lifecycle and within an integrated growth team, supporting proposal, capture, and business development activities.
