About The Position

Parsons is seeking an exceptionally talented Senior Software Reverse Engineer to join our team and support mission-critical customer initiatives. In this role, you will analyze complex software and electronic systems, uncover how they work, and develop creative solutions to challenging technical problems. You will work alongside experienced engineers and interact directly with customers to understand their objectives, communicate technical findings, and deliver solutions that support their mission. This is an opportunity to apply your expertise in reverse engineering, embedded systems, and software analysis to some of the most demanding technical challenges in the field.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must possess an active Secret clearance.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Working knowledge of one or more high-level programming languages, such as C, C++, or Python.
  • Experience with or a strong working understanding of assembly languages and processor architectures, such as ARM and x86.
  • Experience using reverse-engineering and binary-analysis tools, such as: IDA Pro, Ghidra, Radare2, and Binary Ninja.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate complex technical problems and develop creative, practical solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment while also performing independent analysis with limited supervision.
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, and ability to take ownership of assigned work.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to customers and teammates.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with or understanding of embedded operating systems.
  • Experience performing embedded-systems analysis.
  • Experience with analog and/or digital circuit analysis or design.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Experience with virtualization or emulation technologies, such as QEMU or Renode.
  • Experience developing tools or scripts to automate reverse-engineering and system-analysis tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, or managing technical projects.
  • Experience working directly with government or defense customers.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze software components and electronic systems to characterize complex platforms and determine how they operate.
  • Perform software reverse engineering and binary analysis across a variety of architectures and environments.
  • Use programming, debugging, disassembly, and analysis tools to investigate system behavior and identify technical characteristics.
  • Collaborate directly with customers and technical team members to understand mission requirements and develop effective solutions.
  • Solve challenging, open-ended technical problems through creative analysis, experimentation, and research.
  • Develop scripts, tools, and other technical solutions to improve analysis efficiency when appropriate.
  • Document technical findings, methodologies, and system characteristics in clear, detailed reports.
  • Present technical information and conclusions to customers, project stakeholders, and team members.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
