About The Position

The Senior Software QA Engineer is the quality owner for platforms that originate, underwrite, close, and service business purpose loans. This hands-on role defines testing strategy, builds automation to make releases fast and safe, and raises the quality bar across engineering teams working with high-volume transactions, sensitive borrower and financial data, and third-party integrations. The role writes code, shapes test strategy, and mentors engineers and QA team members to build quality in from the start.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive test strategy for web, mobile, API, and back-end systems, covering functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and suites, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines for automatic release validation.
• Review requirements and designs early, and partner with product managers and engineers to define acceptance criteria and identify defects before coding begins.
• Test the loan lifecycle end to end, including applications, underwriting rules, pricing, document handling, closing, funding, servicing, and related third-party integrations.
• Verify systems meet lending-industry security, privacy, auditability, and regulatory requirements, including correct handling of PII and financial data.
• Own release readiness by triaging and prioritizing defects, running regression and smoke testing, and providing go/no-go recommendations.
• Build and manage test data and environments that mirror real lending scenarios without exposing production data.
• Track quality metrics such as defect escape rate, test coverage, and flaky test rate, and use them to improve development and release processes.
• Mentor engineers and QA team members and promote testing best practices across teams.
