Horizon3
•$199,000 - $235,000

About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer on Horizon3’s Partner Integrations team builds and maintains the connections between the NodeZero platform and partner products across the security ecosystem. Integrations with platforms such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Splunk, and ServiceNow help customers turn NodeZero findings into action and are a core part of the product. The engineer will contribute to integration architecture, reliability and observability standards, and key integration surfaces across the platform. This is a hands-on senior engineering role involving production coding, architecture design, collaboration with peer engineers, and solving complex integration challenges with team leadership. The team is developing integrations on a shared framework, and this role will help enhance that framework so integrations are reliable, maintainable, and seamless for customers. The position reports to the Partner Integrations Engineering Manager. Horizon3 is a fast-growing cybersecurity company whose remote and hybrid work models vary by role and location. It develops NodeZero, a platform for production-safe autonomous penetration testing and other assessment operations. The company describes its culture as respectful, collaborative, and focused on ownership and results.

Requirements

  • Several years of professional software engineering experience, including building and supporting production APIs, integrations, or backend services.
  • Proficiency in Go or Python and experience delivering maintainable, well-tested production code.
  • Practical understanding of API integration patterns, such as OAuth 2.0 or API keys, webhooks, pagination, rate limiting, retries, idempotency, and schema evolution.
  • Experience handling distributed-systems failure modes, including duplicate or delayed events, partial failures, and partner API changes.
  • Experience using logs, metrics, alerts, and dashboards to understand and troubleshoot production systems.
  • Comfort working in cloud-native or containerized environments, such as AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Strong collaboration skills, including working through ambiguity with partners and internal teams, explaining technical tradeoffs, and following through on commitments.
  • Interest in improving shared systems and helping other engineers succeed while remaining hands-on.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Horizon3 integration partners such as CrowdStrike Falcon, SentinelOne, Splunk, ServiceNow, Jira, or similar enterprise security and ITSM platforms.
  • Background in the cybersecurity ecosystem, including understanding how SOC teams, MSSPs, and security engineers use the tools NodeZero integrates with.
  • Experience designing field-mapping schemas for cross-platform data translation.
  • Familiarity with integration certification processes, such as vendor marketplace programs and partner API agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and maintain integrations between NodeZero and partner platforms, including security, SIEM, SOAR, and ITSM tools.
  • Own assigned integrations end to end, from understanding partner APIs and requirements through implementation, launch, and production support.
  • Implement reliable integration patterns for authentication, event delivery, retries, idempotency, pagination, rate limits, schema mapping, and partial failures.
  • Improve the shared integration framework, testing practices, documentation, and observability.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot integrations in production, investigate issues, identify root causes, and deliver fixes that prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and partner technical teams to clarify requirements, resolve API questions, and communicate risks and progress.
  • Participate in design and code reviews, and help teammates improve through knowledge sharing and constructive feedback.

Benefits

  • Health, vision, and dental insurance for the employee and family.
  • Flexible vacation policy.
  • Generous parental leave.
  • Equity package in the form of stock options for all full-time roles.
