Senior Software Engineer - Kubernetes

Microsoft•Redmond, WA

About The Position

Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team builds data products and platforms, including Microsoft Fabric and Azure Monitor. The Azure Monitor team develops services that help customers monitor, detect, troubleshoot, and mitigate service issues, including Log Analytics, Application Insights, Container Insights, Hosted Prometheus, and Azure Managed Grafana. Its services process more than 1.5 exabytes of logs daily and track over 100 billion active metrics. The Senior Software Engineer will build and evolve the cloud-native infrastructure layer for Azure Monitor and other observability services. The role owns complex Kubernetes-based platform systems end to end, drives architecture across teams, improves reliability and security at scale, and helps shape safe AI-assisted and AI-agentic infrastructure operations. The team builds planetary-scale Kubernetes infrastructure, scalable and resilient microservices, operational tooling, and secure, compliant, cost-efficient infrastructure patterns. The position involves participation across the engineering lifecycle, collaboration with partner teams, and deployment across Azure regions. Microsoft describes its culture as collaborative, fast-paced, inclusive, and focused on innovation, accountability, and shipping early and often.
