Senior Software Engineer, AI & Data Platforms (AiDP)
About The Position
As a Software Engineer on Apple’s AI & Data Platforms (AiDP) data services team, you will build database managed services and a data streaming platform that support critical Apple business use cases. You will collaborate with database engineering teams, architects, and internal stakeholders to develop scalable cloud-based data engineering solutions. The role includes influencing platform tools, APIs, and architecture and delivering services in a dynamic, cross-functional environment. AiDP brings together data, application development, machine learning, generative AI, data services, and customer success functions to help IS&T build solutions efficiently and streamline generative AI adoption across Apple.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of software development experience with Python or Go.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or AliCloud.
- Production experience with databases such as MongoDB or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerization.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or related work experience.
- Experience developing REST or gRPC APIs.
- Knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, and parallelism.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and data engineering services.
- Design and implement microservices and APIs, from system design through production deployment and operations.
- Collaborate with database engineers and architects to develop services.
- Influence platform tools, APIs, and architecture.
- Work with internal stakeholders to deliver a high-quality product.
