About The Position

CVS Health is seeking a hands-on senior engineer to build software and AI-driven solutions for a national B2C healthcare brand. The role contributes to enterprise software design and delivery and helps bring Generative AI applications from concept into production. The engineer designs and delivers GenAI applications such as chatbots, document intelligence tools, and AI assistants; builds Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines and AI agent workflows; connects applications to AI platforms; and develops prompts and governance practices to support reliable, safe, and compliant AI systems. The role also owns technical design for cloud-native applications, builds web interfaces and REST APIs, prototypes solutions, and deploys containerized applications on Google Cloud using Kubernetes. The position includes technical leadership through design conversations, code reviews, mentoring, and guidance on engineering practices. The engineer works in Agile sprints and contributes to CI/CD pipelines to deliver reliable software continuously.

Requirements

At least 3 years building enterprise or cloud-based software.
At least 3 years of experience using Python/R and/or Java for data analysis.
At least 2 years of experience with CI/CD; GitHub Actions preferred.
At least 2 years of experience with GCP, Azure, or AWS.
At least 2 years shipping AI/ML or GenAI solutions in production.
At least 1 year of experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Spring Boot.
At least 1 year building UIs with React.
Hands-on experience calling LLM APIs.
Hands-on experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or CrewAI.
Hands-on experience building RAG pipelines and integrating vector databases.
Solid prompt engineering skills.
Docker and Kubernetes deployment experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related discipline.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
Experience with relational or NoSQL databases and knowledge of GCP cloud stores such as Spanner and Bigtable.
Experience with MLOps/LLMOps practices, data engineering, analytics engineering, machine learning, NLP, or transformer model concepts.
Experience with non-relational datastores such as BigQuery.
Experience with Claude, Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI, OpenAI, or Gemini.
Experience with multi-agent AI architectures.
Experience with message queueing or Pub/Sub systems.
Knowledge of UI design tools such as Figma.
Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver production Generative AI solutions, including chatbots, document intelligence tools, and AI assistants.
Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation pipelines that combine AI reasoning with organizational data.
Build and coordinate AI agents using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or Semantic Kernel.
Connect applications to AI platforms such as Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini.
Write and refine prompts and patterns for reliable production LLM performance.
Monitor, evaluate, and govern AI systems, including quality, safety, and compliance.
Own technical design of cloud-native applications across front-end and back-end services.
Build responsive web UIs using React or Angular.
Design and build REST APIs using Python with FastAPI or Flask, or Java with Spring Boot.
Build and test prototypes to support rapid iteration and experimentation.
Package and run applications on Google Cloud using containers and Kubernetes (GKE).
Lead technical conversations, conduct code reviews, and mentor colleagues.
Work in Agile sprints and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Guide the team on clean code, security, testing, and architecture practices.
