Senior Software Engineer (Plantation, FL)
About The Position
As a member of a collaborative development team, the Senior Software Engineer designs and refactors embedded software for a next-generation platform involving new systems, hardware, software, and security. The role focuses on transitioning the embedded application to new platforms, improving product-family maintainability and forward-engineering capabilities, and developing features in support of product roadmaps and high-profile customer requests. The engineer works with onsite and offsite systems, hardware, software, security, and test engineers, as well as product management, to deliver quality products on time. The role also collaborates with product and program managers, customers, and third parties to support products throughout their lifecycle. A professional, respectful, and collaborative approach is required. The position offers growth opportunities in a fast-paced development organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field of study.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience with software configuration management and control tools.
- Ability to debug and resolve complex problems in multithreaded and concurrent applications.
- Ability to accurately break down, estimate, and schedule software tasks.
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with embedded systems and architectures.
- At least 3 years of programming experience in C and/or C++.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Knowledge of Java or Python.
- Experience programming cloud APIs for at least one of AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with containers (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Experience with Linux, virtualization, and Linux virtual machines.
- Knowledge of cloud-based REST APIs and the OpenAPI (Swagger) framework.
- Experience with continuous integration (CI).
- Experience with agile development and SAFe.
- Knowledge of TLS/SSL, Golang, and Docker containers.
- Understanding of encryption security solutions.
