Senior Software Engineer
About The Position
Adonis is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to serve as a technical anchor for its growing backend AI team. The role involves designing and shipping robust, testable, production-grade agentic AI systems that work at enterprise scale, and helping establish engineering standards through hands-on technical leadership, design reviews, and mentorship. The engineer will research emerging techniques and translate them into practical, reliable engineering practices, while evolving services and keeping systems lean and maintainable. The position is based at Adonis’s New York City office, with in-person work expected at least three days per week. The base salary range is $190,000 to $210,000, with compensation dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The company also offers equity and benefits.
Requirements
- Formal background in computer science or a related technical discipline; a master's degree is a plus.
- At least 5 years of professional backend engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in Python and its ecosystem, such as FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or similar.
- Ability to write elegant, well-tested code, with or without AI assistance.
- Strong systems design skills and hands-on AWS experience.
- Comfort working quickly in ambiguous situations and communicating clearly.
- Willingness to work in person at the New York City office at least 3 days per week.
