About The Position
The isolved Senior Software Engineer designs, builds, and owns complex functionality on the Perform product in an AI-first development environment. The role uses AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code as part of the daily workflow and requires sound judgment in evaluating their output, including knowing when not to use it. The team follows an AI Development Lifecycle (AIDLC), in which product, UX, engineering, and QA collaborate in real time. The Senior Engineer helps shape solutions, identify technical risks early, and turn ambiguous ideas into working software. The role also serves as a resource and mentor for other engineers.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional web application and services development, with recent hands-on experience in AI-assisted development.
- Strong proficiency with C#, current versions of .NET, Angular, TypeScript, and SQL Server.
- Experience with CosmosDB or another NoSQL database.
- Experience with microservice architecture, pub/sub, and asynchronous messaging.
- Experience with Azure, Azure Pipelines, Git, and Docker.
- Solid unit and integration testing practices.
- Ability to evaluate and correct AI-generated code rather than accepting it at face value.
- Comfort working through ambiguity in collaborative, fast-moving sessions with product and UX.
- Experience mentoring or supporting other developers.
- Eagerness to learn and comfort with evolving tools and workflows.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with large enterprise or SaaS platforms, ideally in HCM, payroll, or HR tech.
- Experience working on distributed teams across time zones.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain features across the stack using .NET, Angular, SQL Server, and CosmosDB.
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code to accelerate delivery while ensuring the quality, correctness, and maintainability of shipped work.
- Collaborate in real time with product, UX, and QA through the AIDLC to define, refine, and deliver work.
- Review human- and AI-generated code for logic errors, edge cases, security issues, and deviations from team standards.
- Mentor and support engineers in debugging, problem decomposition, and effective use of AI tools.
- Build and maintain automated tests and contribute to CI/CD through Azure Pipelines.
- Investigate and resolve escalated production issues.
- Improve team practices, standards, and workflows as the AI-first model matures.
