About The Position

Mosaic Pediatric Therapy is seeking a senior, hands-on software engineer to design, build, ship, and maintain the internal applications and services that support its clinical operations, billing, credentialing, and analytics. The role will establish engineering standards for internal software and help shape the architecture and engineering culture behind the company’s next generation of applications and AI-enabled systems. These systems handle protected health information, so accuracy, security, and compliance are essential. Approximately 70% of the role focuses on software development, including application architecture, end-to-end feature development, APIs and integrations, testing, code review, and production support. The remaining 30% involves supporting the data and platform layer, including Azure Fabric Lakehouse pipelines, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and monitoring. Mosaic uses Azure, Fabric, SQL Server, and Microsoft 365, while valuing strong engineering fundamentals over expertise in a specific language or framework. The engineer will work cross-functionally with the VP of Data Science, the Director of IT, and operational leaders. They will also mentor internal builders who use AI-assisted development tools, helping them turn prototypes into safe, tested, and maintainable software.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional software development experience building and shipping production applications.
  • High proficiency in at least one modern programming language and comfort learning others.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented or functional design, modular architecture, unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, debugging, and Git-based workflows.
  • Experience designing and building APIs, services, and web applications.
  • A track record of owning software end to end, from design through production support.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and production deployment workflows.
  • Experience building on a major cloud platform; Azure is preferred, while AWS or GCP are considered.
  • Solid SQL and relational database design skills.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar.
  • Understanding of secure coding practices and handling sensitive or regulated data.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring other developers or leading code review.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure, .NET, SQL Server, Microsoft Fabric, Entra ID, or Power Platform.
  • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines or working in Lakehouse or data warehouse environments.
  • Infrastructure-as-code experience with Bicep, Terraform, or ARM.
  • Experience building applications on top of LLMs or agentic frameworks.
  • Experience in healthcare, ABA, EHR/EMR, claims, or other regulated environments.
  • Exposure to HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, SOC 2, or related compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Own internal software end to end, from requirements and architecture through implementation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Build web applications, services, APIs, and integrations with third-party systems, including EHR, billing, and HR platforms.
  • Establish standards for source control, branching, code review, testing, modular design, documentation, and secure coding.
  • Lead by example through high-quality code and thoughtful pull request reviews.
  • Build and maintain applications and agentic workflows that use LLMs and AI services.
  • Help internal builders using Claude Code and similar tools turn prototypes into production-grade software.
  • Establish deployment pipelines, environment management, monitoring, alerting, and incident response across internal systems.
  • Debug production issues and conduct blameless post-incident reviews.
  • Build and maintain pipelines that move application data into and out of the Azure Fabric Lakehouse.
  • Contribute to cloud infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, and data models for applications and reporting.
  • Work with clinical, billing, credentialing, and operations leaders to turn workflow problems into well-scoped software solutions.

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • Remote-first flexibility
