About The Position

Arrowstreet Capital is seeking a senior technical leader to design, operate, secure, automate, and troubleshoot enterprise DevOps platforms. The role calls for deep expertise in GitLab or comparable platforms, Artifactory or comparable platforms, Linux, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, networking, monitoring, and disaster recovery. The current environment includes GitLab and JFrog Artifactory, though direct experience with those products is not required; comparable enterprise experience with tools such as GitHub Enterprise, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or Sonatype Nexus is welcome. The successful candidate will act as a senior technical authority and production escalation point, ensuring the platforms are highly available, secure, scalable, observable, and recoverable. The role includes architecture and administration of GitLab and Artifactory; support for Linux, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, and AWS; automation and monitoring; incident leadership and root-cause analysis; disaster-recovery planning and testing; documentation and mentoring; and participation in an on-call rotation. Planned maintenance, upgrades, migrations, and disaster-recovery exercises may take place outside standard business hours when required. • Experience designing highly available, scalable, secure, observable, and recoverable systems.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management; Terraform and Ansible are preferred tools.
  • Experience building effective monitoring and alerting with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or Elastic Stack.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-impact production incidents and perform cross-layer root-cause analysis.
  • Experience creating and maintaining operational runbooks and searchable support documentation.

  • Relevant AWS, Kubernetes, Linux, GitLab, or JFrog certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, administer, secure, upgrade, and optimize enterprise GitLab and JFrog Artifactory environments.
  • Design GitLab and Artifactory architectures for high availability, scalability, performance, disaster recovery, and geographic redundancy; manage GitLab components, runners, CI/CD integrations, repositories, projects, groups, users, roles, and permissions.
  • Manage Artifactory repositories, Docker/OCI registries, Helm repositories, artifact replication, retention, promotion, and lifecycle policies.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux systems, including performance, storage, networking, services, security, patching, and capacity.
  • Design and support Docker and production Kubernetes/EKS environments, including networking, storage, RBAC, ingress, autoscaling, and Helm deployments.

  • Configure and troubleshoot iptables, AWS Security Groups, Network ACLs, DNS, routing, NAT, proxies, load balancers, and TLS.
  • Develop Python, Terraform, and Ansible automation and API integrations for provisioning, administration, inventory collection, monitoring, reporting, and recovery.
  • Implement alerts for inventory failures, stale or incomplete data, API errors, unauthorized access changes, excessive permissions, orphaned resources, and ownership anomalies.
  • Design efficient monitoring, dashboards, health checks, and actionable alerts while reducing noise and alert fatigue.
  • Lead production troubleshooting across applications, Linux, containers, Kubernetes, AWS, databases, storage, networks, identity systems, and CI/CD services.
  • Conduct root-cause analyses and turn recurring incidents into permanent fixes, automation, or monitoring improvements.
  • Create, organize, test, and maintain support runbooks, escalation procedures, architecture documentation, and operational knowledge bases.
