Senior Software Engineer, Swarm Systems

RED CAT HOLDINGS•San Diego, CA
•$113,965 - $178,135•Hybrid

About The Position

Apium Swarm Robotics (ASR) develops swarm autonomy software for air, surface, undersea, and ground vehicles in commercial and defense environments. Its systems are integrated into real vehicles and tested in operational field conditions. The company develops collaborative swarming technology that enables one operator to manage dozens to hundreds of vehicles in real time. The Senior Software Engineer will maintain ASR’s existing software code base and develop new features. Development targets include C++ core swarm processes running on the ground station and onboard drones, as well as Python web services for the ground station. The role includes developing new swarming behaviors and communication methodologies, improving system functionality, contributing to software architecture and helping define a more rigorous software development process. An advanced software-in-the-loop (SITL) suite supports working from home, with travel opportunities for testing and demonstrations.
