Senior Software Systems Engineer
About The Position
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Senior Systems/Software Engineer for a classified position at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. The role supports execution of the USAF Airworthiness process under MIL-HDBK-516, as well as the Air Force Life-Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) and Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) processes prescribed by AFMCI 63-1201. The engineer applies knowledge of business and mission systems supporting Program Office capabilities, particularly in software engineering, software security, and cyber (IA) security, to support implementation of Air Force Integrity Programs. A current TS/SCI clearance is required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 20 years of relevant DoD experience.
- ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Five years of experience in a DoD acquisition program as a sub-system or system lead engineer within a recognized ACAT I (or equivalent) special access program office.
- Two years of DoD SAP engineering experience before selection for employment under this contract.
- Knowledge of software engineering supporting the design, development, test and evaluation, implementation, maintenance, and administration of new or existing software systems.
- Experience with C, C++, Python, and Matlab scripts.
- Familiarity with current cloud technologies.
- Current TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Responsibilities
- Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
- Support review and evaluation of weapon system designs, analyses, verification documentation, and reports.
- Gather and develop technical and business data needed to build and, when required, present program briefs.
- Support program meetings, working groups, and technical and business reviews as needed.
- Analyze equipment and software performance deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Support development of contract and documentation changes and updates.
- Support source selections in a technical advisory role as requested.
- Support development and review of documentation and products required by DoDI 5000.02.
- Review, develop, and update applicable program software and software documentation for software engineering requirements.
- Support development of the software development strategy and Software Development Plan.
- Support tasks required to design, develop, integrate, and field Integrated Functional Capabilities (IFCs).
