About The Position

This organization is a global communications solutions provider offering a comprehensive suite of fully managed services focused on secure connectivity, networking, and mobility. It supports businesses and government agencies by simplifying communications and network operations. Clients include many Fortune 500 companies, and the organization is recognized as a leader in the industry. With a broad technology portfolio, integrated partnerships, and a private network, it delivers tailored solutions across design, deployment, and ongoing management — driving efficiency, innovation, and enabling customers to focus on core objectives. The team values each member’s contribution to long‑term success and provides an environment where professionals can grow, develop skills, collaborate with diverse colleagues, share knowledge, and build a rewarding career. The organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Integration to join a new platform modernization team in NYC. The platform is a mission‑critical operations system that has been in production for more than 15 years and is deeply embedded in how internal teams and customers operate. This role owns the customer integration experience end‑to‑end: designing and delivering the platform SDK, public APIs, and developer experience portal; and building out the Integration Marketplace — a catalog of connectors that integrate the platform with customer environments across HR, ticketing, MDM, SSO, zero‑touch provisioning, mobile threat defense, and business intelligence systems. You will collaborate closely with senior architectural leadership and serve as the primary owner of the platform’s integration experience. AI‑assisted engineering tools will be a core part of your workflow.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering background with experience shipping developer‑facing surfaces (SDKs, public APIs, platform products)
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering, with significant time in SDK/API/platform engineering
  • Demonstrated ownership of a production‑scale SDK or public API
  • Proficiency in at least two modern programming languages; TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js preferred
  • Working knowledge of multiple ecosystems (.NET, Python, Go, Ruby, Java) and their SDK conventions
  • Experience designing APIs/SDKs optimized for developer discovery: naming conventions, type definitions, inline documentation, progressive disclosure
  • Experience contributing to developer portals or documentation sites (docs‑as‑code, OpenAPI, generated SDKs)
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise integration concerns: OAuth 2.0/OIDC, SAML, SCIM, webhooks, REST, GraphQL, retry/idempotency, schema versioning
  • Experience with containerized deployment (Kubernetes, Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Proficiency with AI‑assisted development tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, etc.)
  • Strong written communication skills for SDK docs, API design docs, and integration guides
  • Customer empathy and experience working directly with developers integrating against your product

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing APIs/SDKs for AI agents or AI‑native applications (MCP, function‑calling patterns)
  • Prior experience at an iPaaS or B2B SaaS company with a published SDK and connector ecosystem
  • Experience integrating with systems like ServiceNow, Jira, Workday, Okta
  • Familiarity with telecom, MDM, or network monitoring protocols (SNMP, syslog, MDM APIs, vendor APIs)
  • Developer advocacy, DevRel, or technical writing experience
  • Domain experience in telecom, managed services, or B2B platforms

Responsibilities

  • Design, deliver, and evolve the platform SDK and public APIs end‑to‑end
  • Own contract design, versioning strategy, pagination, error handling, authentication, rate limiting, and language‑specific ergonomics
  • Own the developer portal as a product: quickstart guides, API references, code samples, interactive playgrounds, SDK changelogs
  • Maintain a documentation pipeline that stays in sync with the code
  • Treat documentation as a first‑class engineering deliverable
  • Lead the design and expansion of the Integration Marketplace
  • Own the connector framework, certification model, secrets management, observability, and onboarding workflows
  • Deliver foundational connectors across ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, Zendesk, Freshservice, BMC), HR feeds, MDM, SSO, zero‑touch provisioning, mobile threat defense, and BI tools
  • Apply patterns for webhook delivery and retry, eventual consistency, schema evolution, idempotency, replay, and observability
  • Design integrations to avoid common production failures
  • Ensure integrations are consumable by modern AI agents and AI‑native applications
  • Provide clear tool semantics, well‑described capabilities, and safe patterns for AI‑first user experiences
  • Work directly with customer engineering teams during onboarding and early‑adopter programs
  • Incorporate real‑world feedback into SDK, API, and connector design
  • Conduct code reviews, write maintainable and well‑tested code
  • Contribute to a high engineering bar
  • Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers
