About the position
Babylist is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Growth engineering team. The role involves working with technical leads and software engineers to enhance the Babylist experience for users, from outreach to onboarding. The ideal candidate is a high-performing engineer with experience in JavaScript, React, and Ruby/Python, and is passionate about driving business growth and making measurable improvements for customers. Responsibilities include designing and implementing systems to support new-user experiences, providing thought leadership, improving existing systems, and mentoring team members.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with product owners to design, implement and deploy systems to support and scale new-user experiences, including email marketing, attribution, landing pages, and onboarding
- Provide thought leadership around process, tooling, systems, and software architecture
- Improve and help maintain existing systems
- Work in a close, supportive team to solve real-world problems and make decisions
- Mentor other team members through design and architecture planning, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
Requirements
- Experience delivering end-to-end solutions that drive business growth
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in JavaScript, React, and Ruby/Python (or similar)
- Ability to deliver elegant and effective software solutions in a timely manner
- Clear, friendly, and open-minded communication skills
- Passionate about making measurable improvements for customers and using data to drive growth
- Successful in an agile work environment and able to break down large pieces of work to deliver value incrementally
- Familiarity with or interest in learning email systems, A/B testing, marketing attribution systems, and SEO
